Telecom Global Networks manages traffic through balancing techniques by IP prefixes (IP addresses) using the BGP Internet protocol. We do this for both National and International traffic, while making sure to keep all traffic links balanced, thus avoiding congestion and degradation of the service in general.
In order to maintain this balancing, all links are monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a week through our NOC Regional, which is responsible for notifying the engineers on time in case any national or international link begins to have difficulties such as abrupt increase in traffic, optic fiber cutting or degradation of a particular link. After being notified, our engineers are in charge of quickly reviewing and solving the issue, trying not to impact the services or that they are affected as little as possible.
The monitoring of our links is carried out through a software that graphs using the MRTG tool, which provide us real-time information on the state of our network. Through this tool we can measure and monitor network traffic, delay, loss of connectivity, quality of service standards, IP telephony services, among others.
In this traffic balancing scheme the client servers are not affected, since in the balancing BGP does not interfere in TCP connections (HTTP, FTP, TELNET, SSH for example) and less in UDP (eg RTP-based applications , as voice and video).
Except our service suffers some fiber break or damage of any card of some distribution equipment, a short microcut can be noticed in the case of voice or video. This is almost imperceptible since we have a network based on protocols supported by fast routing (fast-reroute), which allows the rapid diversion of the information in our backup links.
